News oi-Vivek | Published: Saturday, January 30, 2021, 12:49 [IST] Samsung was once criticized for not updating their mid-range and low-end smartphones. This year, this notion is likely to change as the company is swift at rolling out Android 11 OS update to more and more devices, and the latest device to join this list is the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite was launched in 2020 along with the Galaxy S10 Lite with an affordable price tag. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite and the S10 Lite have launched with Android 10 OS based OneUI 2.0 skin on top. Now, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is being updated to Android 11 OS with OneUI 3.0 skin on top. One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy Note 10 Lite comes with the version number N770FXXU7DUA8 and is around 2GB in size. So, make sure to have at least 5GB of free internal storage and a fast internet connection to experience a smooth update process. How To Update Galaxy Note 10 Lite To Android 11/OneUI 3.0? To updat

The latest Samsung phone to get the Andriod 11 and One UI 3.0 update treatment is the Galaxy Note10 Lite. Last year’s affordable Note member is now getting the N770FXXU7DUA8 update which also brings the January security patch. Currently, the update has been spotted in France and it should naturally make its way to more regions soon. It is the first major OS upgrade for the Note10 Lite which launched with Android 10. Based on Samsung’s promise of three generations of OS updates the device should see at least two more major Android OS updates in its lifetime. Feel free to check out our One UI 3 mini-review to see what new features you can expect with the update. Via

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Android 11 update is rolling out again - Android Police

This story was originally published 2021/01/06 11:46am PST on Jan 6, 2021 and last updated 2021/01/27 2:16am PST on Jan 27, 2021 .  Samsung's hard at work in bringing One UI 3 to its smartphone lineup and only recently pushed the update to the Galaxy S10 series. Unfortunately, the company ran into some camera and overheating problems with the Android 11-based firmware and had to pull the update temporarily. It looks like these issues should be a thing of the past. Samsung is distributing the update again, as stated in the Verizon changelog and covered by SamMobile. The new firmware is rolling out as version G975FXXU9EUA4. It looks like Switzerland and US customers on Verizon are among the first to receive it. If you want to update to the new Android 11 build asap, you could try using Samsung's Smart Switch PC app. There's no guarantee it'll work, but if you're impatient to get Android 11 with a functional camera and no thermal issues, it's worth a try.

Samsung's Galaxy S21 doesn't support seamless updates - Android Police

Image
Last year, a change to the Android 11 Vendor Test Suite was spotted, indicating that phones launching with Android 11 and later would be required to support so-called "seamless" updates. This feature allows a phone to install a system update while it's running and simply reboot into the new environment without any user-facing delay. Unfortunately, that hasn't panned out. According to the latest Android 11 Compatibility Definition Document (CDD), Google has seemingly walked back that requirement, and we can confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S21 doesn't support seamless updates. For those unaware, Android has supported a process called seamless updates since 2016. There are a few different ways to implement it, like virtual A/B partition support, but the very short version is: it lets the phone install an update while it's being used. You don't have to sit for ages waiting on some progress bar in your bootloader, staring at a phone that can't even make em

The Four-Year-Old Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ gets the latest security patch update - gizmochina

Image
Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ aren’t even running on 2019’s Android 10 OS. However, the company is not giving up on the Quarterly update cycle for the 2017 flagships. Accordingly, the devices have received a new update. Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ with model numbers SM-G950F and SM-G955F respectively are getting a new update. As per the Sammobile report, the S8 is getting the firmware version G950FXXSBDUA3   and S8+ G955FXXSBDUA3 across Latin America(Exynos models). Back in February 2019, Samsung rolled out the One UI update for the Galaxy S8-Series delivering the promise of extending the One UI to older Android versions(pie). However, they haven’t received any major updates after that. In fact, the company pushed them to the Quarterly cycle last year. Considering it’s been four years since the official launch, it is appreciative of Samsung to at least roll out the security patches for those who are clinging on to their devices. Speaking of which, Samsung Galaxy S8’s IP68 an

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series still lacks Android’s seamless updates feature - 9to5Google

Image
For years now, Android has supported the useful ability to install system updates in the background, only requiring a quick reboot to apply the changes. With monthly updates becoming the norm, it’s a great quality-of-life improvement. Samsung has been holding off on the feature for years, though, and that’s not changing as the Galaxy S21 series still lacks support for seamless updates. Seamless updates uses A/B partitions to install an update in the background while you’re still using your phone. This comes with quite a few benefits, such as lesser risk for corrupt data during an update, but also the simple fact that your phone isn’t out of commission for the better part of 20 minutes. It was widely assumed that Google would be requiring support for this update method with Android 11 as some leaked documents seemingly proved, but apparently Google walked back on that decision in the time since. That is to say, Samsung’s Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are still lacking support for

Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ Get January Update On Verizon - Android Headlines

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are receiving a new update on Verizon. The update brings the January 2021 Android security patch. It is rolling with software version G960USQS9FUA2 and  G965USQS9FUA2 for the two 2018 Galaxy flagships respectively. The official changelog only mentions the latest security update and that's probably about it. So don't go digging for new features with this update. That said, the January 2021 Android security patch does contain fixes for dozens of high-risk vulnerabilities as well as one critical vulnerability found in Android OS. Additionally, the latest security update also fixes nine moderate and high-risk Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. SVEs are software flaws that only affect Samsung smartphones (One UI). So you might want to update your aging phone to the latest security version right away. January security update is now rolling out for the Galaxy S9 series on Verizon The Samsung Galaxy S9 line is about to reach its

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story……. Original story (published on August 08, 2020) follows: Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra at a Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. The event also welcomed the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+, Galaxy Z Fold2, Galaxy Watch3, and Galaxy Buds Live, but one thing stood out for sure, at least for software update fans. At the event, Samsung revealed that the Galaxy Note 20 will receive three Android OS updates all through to Android 13. That’s some feat coming from Samsung, which has been offering two OS updates to all Galaxy devices regardless of the price. This changes going forward. And even better is that the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra aren’t alone. If you own any of the devices in the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 10, and Galaxy S10 series, you are also guaranteed at least three Android OS updates. Samsung commits to 3 Android OS updates Yes, this means OS updates for the Galaxy Note 10 and
