After months of beta testing, Google has officially released the next iteration of Android – Android 12. The company has dropped the source code of Android 12 to AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and plans to push the update for Google Pixel devices "in the next few weeks."
Android 12 is the next major release in the Android OS. The update comes with a visual revamp involving the new Material You theme, a notification redesign, a new privacy dashboard, privacy indicators and a lot more.
Android 12 is a power-house of features, but the question is when will Android 12 arrive on your smartphone? In our Android 12 update tracker, we will discuss which smartphones will receive the Android 12 update, if at all.

Android 12 Release Date
Google has "officially" released Android 12. The update comes after the fifth beta, released in September. Although the source has been pushed to AOSP, Pixel devices have yet to receive their first stable update of Android 12.
Once the official update rolls out to Google Pixel devices, we will have many smartphone manufacturers coming up with their plans for the Android 12 rollout. By the end of the year, we will have many Android-12 based skins ready from Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc. According to Google, Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi will get Android 12 later this year.

When will Android 12 arrive?
When the Android 12 update arrives for your device will entirely depend upon your smartphone manufacturer. Some are quick to issue the latest update while others take up an entire year.
The likelihood of your device getting the update will also depend on the update policy for your specific device i.e whether the device is eligible for an update or not. The pace at which the Android 12 update arrives will depend on whether it's a high-end smartphone and/or if it was released recently.

List of Eligible Google Pixel devices
Post the Android 12 launch, Pixel devices will be the first to receive the Android 12 update. The roll-out of the Android 12 stable version for the Pixel lineup will begin "in the next few weeks," according to Google.
Here is the list of Google Pixel devices eligible for Android 12 update –

At present, we don't know for sure if the original Pixel and Pixel 2 lineup will receive the Android 12 update or not. Both devices are way past the software update support period. That said, Google may pull up a surprise and issue the Android 12 OTP update for the Google Pixel 2 and 2XL.
List of Eligible OnePlus devices
OnePlus has always been on the frontline when it comes to Android updates. The company is known to deliver Android updates quicker than other smartphone OEMs. At present, the first Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 Open Beta is out for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
Although OnePlus devices will receive the Android 12 sooner or later, we don't know whether it will be based on OxygenOS or ColorOS. OnePlus recently announced an OxygenOS and ColorOS merger, and the OnePlus 9 China lineup was spotted running ColorOS 12 instead of the standard HydrogenOS.
Interestingly, Oppo has announced a timeline for Android 12 updates for OnePlus devices. Here is the list of OnePlus devices that will receive the Android 12 stable update –

List of Eligible Xiaomi Mi and Redmi devices
Xiaomi is expected to begin rolling out the MIUI 13-based on Android 12 by the end of the year. According to some leaks, MIUI 13 is taking up a number of features from iOS 14.
For now, Xiaomi is testing the Android 12-based MIUI on its high-end devices including Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra in China. The company has also confirmed the first wave of devices that receive Android 12 updates. These are as follows: These are as follows: Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Por, Mi 11, Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+.

Like other smartphone manufacturers, Samsung is also gearing up to bring its Android 12-based One UI to its users. Samsung has already begun the Android 12 based One UI 4.0 beta program and will likely release the final stable version of One UI 4.0 by the end of the year.
At present, the One UI 4.0 beta is available for the Galaxy S21 lineup i.e Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. More Galaxy devices will likely become part of the One UI 4.0 beta program in the coming weeks. Android 12 Has a Default Game Mode and These are the First Games That Support it (October 6th, 2021)
One of the biggest features of Android 12 is the Game Mode under the newly introduced Game Dashboard. Android 12 Dessert Name Is "Snow Cone" Reveals Google VP Engineering (October 5th, 2021)
Android dropped referring to Android versions with desert names with the release of Android 10. However, Google might bring the cool desert names back. Google's VP of Engineering for Android, Dave Burke, announced on Twitter that Android 12 is codenamed Snow Cone. Burke also shared an image showing the official Android icon sitting on multiple ice-cream cones.
