Easy Access: How to Control Your Apple Watch From Your iPhone - PCMag
Navigating and using your Apple Watch directly can sometimes be a challenge, especially if some obstacle interferes with your ability to manipulate the watch's small screen and controls. In that case, you may want to enlist your iPhone to control your watch. By turning on Apple Watch Mirroring, you tap and touch an image of your watch on your phone to access different menus, activate key features, and launch various apps.
As an accessibility feature, Apple Watch Mirroring is especially geared toward people with physical or motor disabilities who may run into difficulties trying to use their Apple Watch directly. But the feature can prove helpful for anyone in a situation where it's easier to control the watch from the phone's larger screen. This option requires iOS 16 on your iPhone and watchOS 9 on an Apple Watch Series 6 or later. Here's how it works.
Update to iOS 16 and watchOS 9
First, update your iPhone to iOS 16 or higher. Go to Settings > General > Software Updates. You'll be told that iOS is up to date or be asked to download and install the latest update.

Make Sure Your Apple Watch and iPhone Are Paired
Put your watch on your wrist. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Accessibility > Apple Watch Mirroring. Turn on the switch for Apple Watch Mirroring. Wait for your phone to connect to your watch. The screen on your iPhone then displays your watch with its current watch face, while your watch screen itself is encircled with a blue outline.
